OCTOBER 12, 2019- SAUGUS, MA – The weather was seasonably warm, light drizzle for an hour or two diminishing to just cloudy with a moderate breeze for the remainder of the day. We had just four entries but all things considered it was a good day to fly some combat. The best match of the early rounds and perhaps the entire contest was a full duration war between Greg Wornell and Neil Simpson. There was twisting and turning for the full duration that included the pilots flying out of two major line tangles. Neil was leading two cuts to one when Greg executed a beautiful inverted cut in the final half minute to earn a tie and force a re-fly. Neil squeaked by in the re-fly with an airtime win ending Greg’s day and leaving Neil with no losses at the end of two rounds. Chris Sarnowski and Brian Stas were in close pursuit with one loss apiece. In round three Chris got the bye while Neil was earning a two cuts to one win over Brian. This left only Chris and Neil to battle it out with Chris having to win twice which he did earning the contest win in the process.
