OCTOBER 30, 2016 – HALIFAX, MA – The Wingbuster Club Field in Halifax, Massachusetts was the location as once again the Fall Fly-Off drew down the curtain on yet another New England control line combat season. The weather was seasonably warm and partly sunny with a light breeze. This year’s event attracted five pilots. .

Round one saw Neil Simpson get off to the best start posting an 620 point win however the field was in close pursuit as three additional pilots posted scores north of 500 points. Neil stayed hot in round two getting past Paul Kubek with another 620 point win while the rest of the field faltered. In round three Neil and Brian Stas flew to 510 point draw while in the same round Paul Kubek helped his position with a 620 point win over Chris Sarnowski. Going into the final round Neil had a significant lead while Paul and Brian were in a battle for second place. In the semi-final match Brian managed a cut on Paul before a mid-air ended things. It was just enough to give Brian second place with Paul settling for third place. In the final Neil flew Joe Fustolo to a one cut apiece draw in a well flown match which was enough to give Neil the contest win.
