2018 Wingbuster Fall Fly-Off
BRIAN STAS, PAUL KUBEK & CHRIS SARNOWSKI
TAKE TOP THREE SPOTS
BILL BISHOP WINS SPORTSMAN

OCTOBER 28, 2018 – HALIFAX, MA – The Wingbuster Club Field in Halifax, Massachusetts was the location once again for the Fall Fly-Off. The weather was reasonably warm and cloudy with a light breeze. This year’s event attracted six pilots.

Round one saw Brian Stas and Paul Kubek get off to the best starts each posting 725 point wins. In round two Brian maintained the contest lead getting past Paul for a two cut win. In round three Brian got past Chris Sarnowski for his third two cut win in a row. It had become clear who was going to be very hard to beat on this day. Round three also saw Paul get an airtime win over Neil Simpson which left him still well off Brian’s pace but with a strong grasp on the runner-up spot. This left Neil and Chris in a close race for the final trophy spot. In the semi-final match Chris got a one cut win over Paul while Neil and Brian were flying to one cut apiece draw in the final match. Bill and Cody Bishop were in a day long battle for the sportsman “gold”. Both guys are demonstrating good improvement both in their flying and in equipment prep. On this day Bill got past Cody by just ten points.

Thank you to the entire Wingbuster Model Airplane Club for the use of their fine facility and for the courtesies extended to us all season long.
