2019 Fall Fly-Off

NEIL SIMPSON, BRIAN STAS & CHRIS SARNOWSKI
TAKE THE TOP THREE SPOTS
CODY BISHOP WINS SPORTSMAN

OCTOBER 27, 2019 – SAUGUS, MA – The 107th RC Flyers Club Field in Saugus, Massachusetts was the location for the 2019 Fall Fly-Off. The weather was mostly sunny, temps in the mid sixties with a light sea breeze. Weather-wise it was the best contest day of the season. This year’s event attracted six pilots.

Round one saw Neil Simpson get off to the best start with a two cut win followed closely by Brian Stas who logged a one cut win. Brian and Neil faced off in round two each scoring a cut with Neil getting the win on airtime. In round three Neil maintained the contest lead getting past Paul Kubek with a two cut win. Round three also Brian and Cody Bishop fly to a one cut draw when they executed a head on double kill. Chris Sarnowski, despite some day long engine woes, used a a one cut win over Bill Bishop to stay in contention. In the final round Cody posted a two cut win over his dad to finish with a very respectable cumulative score. In the next match Brian got a two cut win over Paul keeping the pressure on Neil and Chris who, on this day along with Cody, were the other trophy contenders. In the final Neil and Chris were matched up. Lots of good action early with Neil mostly on the defensive however near the end Chris’ engine went sour and Neil got a cut to earn the match and contest win. Brian and Chris finished second and third in that order. Cody got the sportsman win finishing just five points out of third place.

Thank you to the 107th RC Flyers for the use of their fine facility and for the courtesies extended to us all season long.
