CODY BISHOP WINS SPORTSMAN
SEPTEMBER 28, 2019-SAUGUS, MA - Seven contestants were on hand for this one. The weather was warm and sunny. The sea breeze was very strong and certainly a factor.
Round one saw Matt Stas get off to the best start posting a two cut win. In round two Matt and Neil Simpson faced off. There was good action early however a line tangle crash gave Neil an airtime win. Following slow starts by both pilots round two also saw Brian Stas and Paul Kubek move into contention each posting one cut wins. In rounds three and four the wind got stronger and that combined with some poor engine runs held the scores down. When the cumulative scores were tabulated Neil, Paul and Brian had finished first thru third in that order. Cody Bishop flew smooth and steady all day to finish fourth overall taking home the “sportsman gold” in the process.
