NEIL SIMPSON, CODY BISHOP & BILL BISHOP ARE TOP THREE

JUNE 20, 2020-SAUGUS, MA – The GX Shootout attracted seven pilots for a day of Formula GX action. The weather was sunny and very hot. The breeze was light and not problematic.

Round one action saw Neil Simpson and Bill Bishop post good wins while everyone else started slowly. In round two Neil and Bill flew to a one cut apiece draw. Meanwhile Brian Stas moved into contention for the lead with a two cut win over Ara Dedekian. In round three Neil and Brian faced off. They mid-aired early in the match hurting both their cumulative scores. Going into the final round five pilots were in close contention for the lead. Bill was in front followed by Neil, Matt Stas, Cody Bishop and Brian. In the first match of the final round Cody posted a 520 point airtime win over Ara. In the next match Neil got a one cut win over Matt in a match where Matt got a bad engine run. In the final Brian got an airtime win over Bill. When the cumulative scores were tabulated Neil had the contest win followed by Cody and Bill.

Although he didn’t fly old friend Rick Clark was in attendance and helped with both the judging and some pit work making everyone’s day a little easier.
