CODY BISHOP WINS SPORTSMAN
November 17, 2019 – SAUGUS, MA - Five contestants were on hand for this one. The weather was overcast, a light breeze, temps in the mid thirties with off and on light snow. A perfectly good day to fly some combat.
Round one saw Neil Simpson get off to the best start posting a 725 point win. Brian Stas who had gotten a round one airtime win was in close pursuit when the two faced off in round two. Brian came away with a two cuts to one win in a well flown match. Round two also saw Cody Bishop get past his dad, Bill with a one cut win. At the half way point it was Brian, Neil and Cody in that order all having relatively close cumulative scores. In round three Brian got a 520 point airtime win over Cody and that actually stretched his lead as all the other scores in that round were ugly. In the semi final Chris Sarnowski flew Neil to a one cut apiece draw which moved Chris into a third place tie with Cody. In the final Brian got a two cut win over Bill to secure the contest win. Neil finished second followed by Chris who won a fly-off with Cody. Cody took home the sportsman “gold”.
