2018 Turkey Day Shootout

CODY BISHOP WINS SPORTSMAN

November 11, 2018 – HALIFAX, MA - Seven contestants were on hand for this one. The weather was sunny with a strong breeze that made the mid-forty degree temperatures seem even cooler.

Round one saw Matt Stas and Neil Simpson get off to the best start each posting 620 point wins. In round two they faced off and flew to a one cut apiece draw. Round two also saw Chris Sarnowski get past Paul Kubek two cuts to one in a well flown match that gave Chris the contest lead. Neil and Matt were close as was Brian Stas who had posted his second airtime win in round two. In the first match of round three Neil got a one cut win over Chris. In the next match Brian and Matt squared off. It was a war with both pilots flying great, earning a cut apiece when with just over a minute left they mid-aired hurting both their cumulative scores. In the same round Paul got a two cut win over Bill Bishop to move into trophy contention. In the final round Paul got an airtime win over Cody to stay in contention. In the semi-final Chris got an airtime win over Matt moving past Paul on the leaderboard. In the final Neil and Brian had a good match ending in a low scoring draw that was good enough pointwise to give Neil the contest win.

The father/son team of Bill and Cody Bishop battled all day in quest of the sportsman “gold”. On this day Cody got past Bill to take home the win in the Sportsman division.
