Wingbuster Spring Championships

BRIAN STAS, NEIL SIMPSON & JOE FUSTOLO
 ARE TOP THREE
CODY BISHOP TAKES SPORTSMAN

MAY 6, 2018– HALIFAX, MA – The Wingbuster Spring Championships attracted six pilots for a day of Formula GX action. This was opening day for the New England 2018 season. The weather was cloudy, comfortable temps, almost no wind and best of all, the predicted rain showers never materialized.

This year winter rust did not seem to be a factor as everyone flew at quite a high level. In round one action Brian Stas got off to the best start posting a 725 point win followed closely by Joe Fustolo and Neil Simpson each with 620 point wins. The highlight matches in the next round were two well flown action filled battles the first between Neil and Brian and the latter between Joe and Chris Sarnowski each ending in one cut apiece draws. In round three the trend continued with action filled relatively low scoring draws this time between Joe and Brian and later between Neil and Paul Kubek. The final round saw Neil squeak out an airtime win over Joe and Brian get past Paul on airtime when the ground came on Paul in the last minute. When the scores were tabulated Brian had the win followed by Neil and Joe. Cody Bishop took home the Sportsman “gold”.

Thank you, as always, to the Wingbusters for allowing us to use their fine facility.
