Wingbuster Summer Championships
NEIL SIMPSON, PAUL KUBEK AND CHRIS SARNOWSKI
TAKE THE TOP THREE SPOTS
SPORTSMAN WINNER – BILL BISHOP

JULY 1, 2018 – HALIFAX, MA – The Wingbuster Club Field in Halifax, Massachusetts was the location. The weather was hot, humid, no breeze with the temperature reaching ninety-nine degrees. This event attracted seven pilots. .

Round one saw Brian Stas and Paul Kubek get off to great starts each posting 725 point wins. In round two Brian and Paul flew to a one cut apiece draw maintaining their two way hold on first place, however, Neil Simpson, Chris Sarnowski and Joe Fustolo were flying steady within range of the leaders. In round three Neil earned a one cut win over Paul, Brian and Chris mid-aired and Joe had to settle for a low scoring draw with Cody Bishop when he lost serious airtime due to a hot engine restart problem. All this gave Neil the contest lead with Paul and Brian in close pursuit. Chris and Joe were just a little bit off their pace. In the final round Chris posted a one cut win over Bill Bishop while Paul and Joe flew to a one cut apiece draw in an action filled match. In the final Neil and Brian faced off. Neil got a string cut early taking some of Brian’s elevator with it. This impaired Brian’s ability to turn allowing Neil to take home a one cut match win and the contest win in the process. Paul finished second while Chris grabbed third just ahead of Joe and Brian. Bill Bishop took home the sportsman “gold”. Bill and his son Cody are making very noticeable improvement both in their flying and in the competitiveness of their equipment.
