GREG WORNELL AND NEIL SIMPSON
TAKE THE TROPHY SPOTS

SEPTEMBER 17, 2017- HALIFAX, MA – The weather was mostly sunny, almost no wind with temps in the mid- eighties. Only four contestants answered the bell for this one and judging might have proved difficult if not for Rick Clark and Joe Fustolo, who although not flying, came by to handle those responsibilities. Guys, please know it is very appreciated. Due to the small turnout the contest was run in triple elimination format. At the end of round three one pilot had been eliminated, Brian Stas was 1-2, Neil Simpson was 2-1 and Greg Wornell was yet to lose. In round four Neil handed Greg his first loss when Greg had engine problems that cost him valuable airtime points. In the very next match Neil got past Brian on airtime in a match where each pilot managed one cut. This eliminated Brian and even though Greg and Neil only had one loss it was decided they would face off and that match would decide the contest. They had a full four minute war each scoring two cuts and forcing a re-fly. In the re-fly Neil put himself in a bad position taking all of Greg’s streamer early. Greg quickly got a cut and during that exchange Neil went into the turf. The resulting loss of airtime cost him the match and gave Greg the contest win.
